Extra Curricular Activities
In addition to the general subjects taught in the school the pupils also have regular classes with part-time teachers for extra curricular subjects.
Home Economics
All pupils and students partake in cookery classes from the pre-schoolers to the Leaving Certificate students



· Both senior and junior students go swimming every week for one term where they get swimming lessons from qualified instructors. Senior students complete the FETAC Level 3 modules in swimming and water safety they also participate in Irish Water Safety awards.





  • For the purpose of integration, once a week our senior students get together with transition year students from Laurel Hill to participate in P.E classes. In exchange the students from our school teach Irish Sign Language to the students of Laurel Hill.



  • Once a term we play indoor scoccer with the students from Casletroy College
  • Every year the students get together with Loreto Grammar in Omagh as part of the Dissolving Boundaries Programme for a Face to Face meeting that usually involves outdoor pursuits.The students make a collaborative website with the girls from Loreto Gramar. This year their project focuses on the difference between the services for the deaf North and South.


  • A professional upholsterer teaches middle and senior students the craft of upholstery every Wednesday. The students have learnt the skills to make beautifully crafted items such as patchwork quilts, headboards and cushions. The senior students do Upholstery as part of the FETAC Level 3 Craft Upholstery Module.


  • The middle and senior students also have weekly woodwork classes as part of the FETAC Level 3 Craft Woodwork Module. Students have made many items ranging from picture frames and shelves to knife blocks and mirror frames.

  • In the Junior classes students avail of our sensory room on a regular basis to relax in a suitable environment. They also avail of home tuition for Irish Sign Language and social outings to improve their social skills.
