Limerick School for the Deaf is now a Green School
Over the course of the last 12 months, the students and teachers from the Limerick School for the Deaf have been striving to reach their green goal, first carrying out extensive research into the steps they would need to take and subsequently acting on each of these points to bring the entire staff and student body in line with their aims and objectives.
Under the guidance of the School’s Green Flag Co-ordinator and in conjunction with Sinéad MacDonnell (Limerick’s City Council’s Environmental Awareness Officer), the students elected a Green Schools Committee and then embarked on a mission to make their school Environmentally Friendly. Through hard work and dedication, the students began to learn about the benefits of recycling and before long, their environmental methods came naturally to one and all.
After so much combined effort on the part of the students and staff of the school, there was huge celebration among the children when they learned that they would be receiving their Green Flag.
