The Mid-West School has now realized the need for an early intervention Pre-School for the Hearing Impaired child
We cater for the hearing impaired child in the age region 2 – 4.
· We provide small teacher pupil ratio on a daily basis.
· An early educational programme individualized for each child, including social development, toileting, and self-help skills.
· A purpose built classroom equipped with sound field system to enhance the acoustic environment.
· A child friendly colourful and stimulating place to learn.
· Exposure to a bi-lingual environment – Sign and oral communication.
· Opportunities to integrate with other hearing impaired children, and adults.
· On site we also have access to a purpose built playground and a sensory room.
· A Joint decision will be reached among teacher, parents, and Language Therapist regarding suitable future placement at the age of four. i.e. local mainstream or Mid-West School for Hearing Impaired.
